Networking Skills e-course
Sign up for our online networking skills course and build your confidence in networking both in-person and online. This course will introduce you to helpful networking tips and teach you how to network successfully.

How many sessions a month do I have to commit to?You are expected to commit at least one 1 hour session per month over the course of the six months, however mentors and mentees are encouraged to meet more often if they think it would be benefitical.

Do mentoring sessions have to be face to face?Mentoring sessions are not required to take place in person, but we encourage mentors and mentees to meet in person at least once before the end of the mentorship scheme for the benefit of the mentoring relationship. Please note that it may not be feasible for all mentors/mentees to meet in person, so it is important to let us know if you have a preference for face to face meetings when applying to the scheme.

Is it guaranteed that my mentor will work in the same industry or sector as me?We will try our best to match mentors and mentees in accordance to your mentoring needs - whether that be personal development, professional development or academic support. If you require a mentor from a particular industry or sector, we will try our best to find a suited mentor but will let you know if we are unable to offer this.

What support will I get as a mentor?Mentors will be invited to complete training and attend an induction session ahead of being matched to a mentee. Mentors will also have access to a handbook, resources and reviews with the mentorship team.

Do I need to be in a senior position before becoming a mentor?No not at all! We believe that everyone has something to bring to the table regardless of where they are in life. We provide mentors with training so that they can feel equipped before starting.
